Is stainless steel safe for holding beverages?
KeepCup Thermal is double walled and vacuum sealed, so it is safe to hold hot and cold beverages. It's durable, easy to sanitize and non-corrosive, manufactured from food safe 18/8 (also referred to as type 304) stainless steel.
We recommend that you wait 30 seconds after pouring boiling water before putting your lid on. And keep the plug vent open for all beverages over 65°C.
What does stainless steel material grade and 18/8 mean?
The "grade" of stainless steel refers to the amount of chromium and nickel found within it, percentage of which is used to designate and determine best material fit for purpose.
Stainless steel 18/8 (also referred to as type 304) is the most common grade of stainless steel used for food preparation and dining due to its robust durability and non-corrosive nature when used in conjunction with myriad of beverage and food types and no metallic aftertaste.
How does the KeepCup Thermal hold the drinks temperature for longer?
A vacuum seal sucks the air from twin walls of stainless steel, provides thermal insulation and ensures that it is not too hot or too cold when holding.
Is there a warranty on this product?
One year warranty on all defects and faults, excluding surface finish staining and fair wear and tear.
If the vacuum seal is punctured or damaged, the cup may become hot to touch with hot liquids. We guarantee manufacturing defect and provide a 12 month warranty for all Thermal KeepCups.
Please contact our Customer Service Team for more details regarding any manufacturing issues.
Is KeepCup Thermal dishwasher safe?
We recommend washing by hand to keep the surface finish looking great, use after use after use.
The vacuum seal is dishwasher safe, however we cannot guarantee the longevity of the surface finish through use in a dishwasher as harsher cleaning chemicals may be used and any finish damages are not covered by the 12 month manufacturing warranty.
Can I put the KeepCup Thermal in the microwave?
As with all stainless steel items, the KeepCup Thermal should not be placed in the microwave.
Why is there no ceramic coating?
We have used the highest quality food-grade stainless steel 18/8 (304) so there is no metallic after taste, meaning a ceramic painted coating isn't necessary.
Is KeepCup Thermal durable?
KeepCup Thermal is highly durable but if the rim of the cup is knocked or dented, it may break the press fit lid seal.
Can KeepCup Thermal be recycled?
Yes. However only 30% of steel is recycled globally. The paint finish does not impact recyclability. The global recycling industry is in crisis, so the most effective action you can take is to reduce and reuse.
Can KeepCup Thermal go in the freezer?
No. Freezing temperatures can damage the insulation properties of your insulated Thermal (and if sealed, the vacuum insulation will prevent the inside from becoming cold anyway). To carry the coldest of contents in your insulated KeepCup Thermal, fill with ice and enjoy.
Have your products been independently tested to be foodsafe?
Yes. We regularly independently lab test all our products to meet various global food safe requirements which include;. EU, FDA, Prop 65, BPA & BPS Free, Chinese GB.
